Naming therapy is an Apple and Android application designed for individuals with aphasia and other speech disabilities. Four activities provide exercises for verbal expression:

  • Naming Practice provides a cueing hierarchy to help users say words with self-scoring & recording options;
  • Describe has cues for meaning and sound to explore the words at a deeper level and do SFA & PCA therapy;
  • Flashcards gives users photos, sounds, and written words to practice in whatever way works for them;
  • Naming Test offers users a test to see if naming is a problem for them and if the app is the appropriate difficulty level.

Users can also add their own photos to work on the words that are most useful to them.

  • Limit words by syllable length to just practice the short ones or target the longer ones.
  • A recorded male voice provides a neutral accent in 5 languages with natural speech for comprehension.
  • Database controls let users turn each word on or off within the app for customization.
  • Tapping is the only motion required - no dragging, swiping or pinching needed for new users and those with motor impairment
