Carlisle nursing home closes to visitors due to COVID-19 exposure

A nursing home in Carlisle has reported that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Claremont Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center announced that due to the staff member’s positive test for the disease, the center will be closed to visitors. All staff, residents and families of residents have been notified, according to a press release.

“The employee is quarantining at home until testing negative,” the press release read. “Universal testing will begin Monday, May 3, for all residents and employees as directed by the Department of Health epidemiologist.”

The center will make exceptions for compassionate care visits and end of life care.
