Quakertown playground sponsor named

The Borough of Quakertown recently announced that QNB Bank will serve as the title sponsor of the new playground located at Memorial Park, which will now be known as QuiNBy’s Playground.

QNB Bank has partnered with Quakertown by pledging a sponsorship of $250,000. Construction on QuiNBy’s Playground will begin within the upcoming months, weather permitting, and is expected to open to the public in the fall.

QuiNBy’s Playground will be an all-inclusive and multigenerational playground that allows individuals of all ages and abilities an equal opportunity of play. There will be designated play areas for both preschool-age (2-5) and school-age (5-12) children. In the school-aged area, the focal point is the Giant Castle Structure, which will stand 21-29 feet.

Additionally, the area is equipped with a 155-foot net obstacle course, pendulum swing and multiple carousels. The preschool age area will feature a smaller scale tower that will allow children to prepare for the school-aged area.

Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau job fair

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau is organizing a regionwide, in-person job fair on May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The goal is to introduce job seekers to positions that are available throughout the Poconos’ hospitality industry. Tourism-related employers will be on-hand to discuss their open jobs, which include full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions from entry to executive level. The job fair will be held at Blue Mountain Resort, The Inn at Woodloch and Kalahari Resorts and Conventions.

To further support regional workforce efforts, PMVB has opened its Job Openings site to the public. Nonmember businesses that would like to publicize their hospitality-related job openings in Carbon, Monroe, Pike or Wayne counties can email jobs@poconos.org. The site currently features nearly 150 jobs from 35 different properties.
