The X-Keys Pro is a keyboard interface designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or fine motor disabilities. This unit is a programmable keyboard designed to provide access to custom or stock software and can be used in conjunction with the standard keyboard or as a stand-alone keyboard for applications not requiring a standard keyboard. The unit provides 58 user-programmable keys that accept multiple keystrokes, enabling multiple keystrokes to be programmed to a single key. Information such as E-mail addresses, signatures, passwords, etc. or frequently used commands can be assigned to single keys. Keys are programmable in two layers using a user-selectable toggle and/or shift keys. The keys are programmed by flipping a switch on the side of the pad, pressing a key, and keying the desired function or phrase from the main keyboard. Programming can be changed as needed and clear keycaps enable the keys to be labeled and re-labeled as required using words, letters, pictures, Braille, etc. COMPATIBILITY: Versions are available for use on IBM and compatible computers or Macintosh computers, including iMac, equipped with a USB port or a PS/2 port. DIMENSIONS: 9 x 8 x 1 inches. WEIGHT: 17.5 ounces.
