Books from the Braille Institute Press are braille books designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. A wide range of titles are available for both children and adults, including titles for preschool children through young adult readers, textbooks for kindergarten through grade 12, books for college preparation, beginner braille books for adults, and recreational reading for adults. Over 1,100 children's titles are available, including both popular and classic fiction, biographies, how-to-books, and many of the popular series books. Textbooks include many currently in use throughout the United States, transcribed by the publisher as a contractor for the State of California. Many subjects are available, including math texts with professionally drawn tactile graphics. Many include workbooks and supplemental materials. Recreational reading for adults includes health-related materials, cookbooks, religious materials, reference and how-to books, biographies, mysteries, and fiction.
