Tiger Max is a desktop braille and tactile graphics embosser designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This embosser can be used for braille production, tactile graphics, braille math with graphics, braille adhesive labels, and business cards. With this printer, braille and graphics can be embossed together on regular braille paper, rather than thermal paper, and braille can be created and embossed directly from mainstream Windows software like MS Office, as well as from braille-making software like Duxbury and Megadots. ViewPlus braille translator for converting text to braille directly in Windows. Braille is printed at 60 characters per second (four pages of braille per minute on 11.5 x 11 inch paper). Graphics are printed at 20 dots per inch resolution, with automatic conversion of colored and shaded images to 3-D tactile graphics. Users can select from tactile fonts including computer braille and DotsPlus Braille, printed in portrait or landscape mode. A tractor paper feeder is included. Paper thickness is adjustable from very thin (copier type) paper to heavy cardstock/plastic with a width of 4 to 14 inches and a length up to 50 inches. Ports include a parallel port with a bi-directional IEEE 1284 in nibble mode, and a serial port with an RS - 232/C 25 connector. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers.
