Sixin is a braille keyboard modification program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This program allows the braillist to use a standard alphabetic (QWERTY) keyboard as a braille keyboard by placing the fingers on the S, D, F and J, K, L keys, and thumbs on the spacebar. The keyboard can be used to write either grade 2 or computer braille. As braille is typed, print appears on the screen, and this text can be read with speech output or a braille display, and saved or modified as a computer file.
