CUSTOM ADAPTATIONPURPOSE: To enable an individual with upper extremity disabilities to open a residential fire door with an automatic closer. A lever made of lightweight aluminum tubing with rubber tips at each end was attached to the existing small lever handle with two hose clamps. This enabled the user to grasp the handle with both hands to turn it and use body weight to pull the door open. DIMENSIONS: The aluminum tube is 20 centimeters long. TITLE: Opening Gambit.
