The Divisibility Rule Critical Thinking 10-Number Challenge Competitions is a workbook designed for children grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and homeschooled with learning disabilities to work on math concepts. It contains divisibility tests and has a wide range of applications in mathematics (finding factors, determining prime vs. composite, simplifying fractions, probability, etc.).

This product combines divisibility rules with critical thinking skills, helping to cement these concepts in the minds of the students. Rather than being provided with a number and proving divisibility or lack thereof, students are instead given divisibility requirements and asked to find a number that meets these requirements (e.g. – “Find a number that is divisible by 2 and 3 but not by 4.”). After the students come up with an appropriate number, they must then prove that it meets the divisibility requirements.

Technical Specifications:

Two “challenges” with 10 such problems each are provided in this product, along with a warm-up page to introduce these types of problems to the students. Detailed keys are also provided. Each 10-Number Challenge can either be done as an individual or partner assignment or as a friendly who-can-come-up-with-the-most-correct-responses competition.
