Calm Down Kit

The Calm Down Kit is a DIY kti for children who have anxiety, find regulating behavior difficult, and children with autism spectrum disorder. The kit includes items that the child will find calming during a tantrum. Anything that soothes the child can go into the box so it can be completely customizable.

Examples of items to put in the kit include stress balls, a kaleidoscope, lavender scented play dough, gum, books on dealing with anxiety, mini massager, sound therapy relaxation prompt cards with strategies for dealing with anxiety, iPod with headphones, noise blocking headphones, photo album of loved ones, things with vanilla or lavender scent, warm and fuzzy socks, a special toy or blanket, and a weighted vest or neck roll.
