Shower Bay

Shower Bay is a portable, roll-in shower stall for individuals with mobility disabilities or lower extremity disabilities who use a wheelchair. It consists of an angled shower base with a drain, an attachable access ramp, an in-hose that pumps water in from any standard sink faucet, and an out-hose that pumps water out to a nearby sink or shower drain. To use, snap the shower base and ramp into place, connect the in-hose to any standard sink faucet, place the out-hose in a sink or bathtub, and turn the faucet on to get the water running.

The user can enter the shower base via the access ramp on his or her shower wheelchair and remain seated throughout his shower. If the user does not need the ramp, he can step over the low 2.5-inch high threshold entry and sit on a shower chair to take his shower (a shower wheelchair or shower chair are not included). The angled shower base will allow the water to travel down the drain where the water is pumped through the out-hose and emptied in a nearby sink or bathtub drain. The walls of the Shower Bay are tall enough to contain the water and ensure the user’s privacy, but also low enough so that a caregiver can assist in the bathing process if needed. The Shower Bay does not require any home remodeling or renovation. It can be assembled in less than ten minutes in any room of the house within 35 feet of a sink faucet (no tools are needed). Shower Bay was designed to accommodate most standard-size shower wheelchairs.
