The SafariSeat is an open source wheelchair made for people in developing countries. SafariSeat, helps people with mobility-related disabilities travel on any terrain, where traditional wheelchairs are often unusable. SafariSeat is a durable wheelchair propelled forward by hand levers, and features sturdy wheels. It is made entirely of repurposed bicycle parts. It is designed to be manufactured and maintained in impoverished regions. Features include:
  • Pump levers to move, and improved biomedical efficiency. User will grip the top for power, grip the bottom for speed.
  • Ability to climb over rough terrain. The patent-pending mechanism keeps all four wheels on the ground at all times, and mimics car suspension for ultimate stability.
