Baby Lifter is a DIY product designed for use by parents with limited upper extremity strength and coordination associated with spinal muscular atrophy, tremors, and weakness. The baby lifter is a crib that is operated by a foot switch. It is powered by a rechargeable power drill. When the basket is lowered to the floor, the sides collapse, enabling the parent/caregiver to remove the baby with their feet. When the crib is raised, the parent/caregiver could transport the baby to other parts of their home, as the device is on casters.
