Leeding E.D.G.E. Wheelchair

The Leeding E.D.G.E. Wheelchair is a stand up wheelchair designed for paraplegics. It is a manual standing wheelchair that features easy drive handles with different gearing options to promote accessibility while also combating shoulder injury that can be caused by traditional wheeling techniques. The wheelchair handles can also be used to elevate the user in seconds, alleviating pressure sores, increasing reach capabilities and “closing social boundaries which inhibit the lives of the disabled day to day," says designer Tim Leeding. The wheelchair allows the user to stand up easily, and is more energy efficient.
