IRT-1 Talking Infared Thermometer is a thermometer designed for the blind and vision impaired with the intention to serve as a cooking and safety aid. The IRT-1 can measure the temperature of items being cooked, the oven, refrigerator, freezer, bath water, coffee, etc. Measures the temperature of an object or liquid without physical contact though the use of infrared energy. It includes a built in speech tutorial, and can be set to speak in English, Spanish, or French. The IRT-1 can help promote safety and independence to vision impaired individuals.

Technical Specifications: 

Temperature range is from -94 to 716 Fahrenheit. Three buttons allows the user to change language, and set to Fahrenheit or Centigrade. It is powered by 2 AA batteries (included), weighs 5 ounces, and fits in the palm of your hand. Tested to FCC 15 and Canada ICES-3B specifications.
