The Clarity D704 is a large button amplified cordless telephone with speaker designed for use by individuals who have low vision or are hard of hearing. The handset amplifies incoming sound up to 40 decibels (dB) (20 times louder than a standard home phone) and offers four tone settings (bass, natural, treble 1 or treble 2). The phone features Clarity Power technology for amplification, DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) 6.0 technology for interference-free communication, high contrast white buttons with black numbers, contoured keys with soft-touch material, large backlit keypad, and large font and high contrast caller ID screen. Both the keypad and display light up as a bright visual ringer. Other features include 10 speed dial buttons, 100 name and number phonebook with 10 memory buttons, 20 last number redial memory, a belt clip for hands-free mobility, 10 loud and clear melodies, and 6 levels of volume. The handset also has a 2.5-millimeter jack for assistive listening devices or headset. Up to five additional handsets (model D704HS, sold separately) can be used with the phone. POWER: The base is powered by a standard 100-240 volt plug; the handset uses 2 AAA, 600mAH Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.
