Reading Comprehension Geography is an academic, reading, language and vocabulary tutorial program designed to provide reading comprehension skills practice for children from third grade through ninth grade who have cognitive or learning disabilities. The program allows children to learn words and concepts relating to geography. This software includes locations such as the ocean floor, the canopy of the rain forest and the geographic Great Depression. It teaches a variety of skills, including identifying main ideas and sequence, finding details in text, using context to identify words, and recognizing cause and effect. Teachers or parents can add their own stories and questions at any time. The school versions and above also come with freely reproducible lesson plans and manipulative masters. Available languages are English and Spanish. COMPATIBILITY: Windows or Macintosh. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: For hybrid direct drive: Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7, CD ROM drive and from 150 to 260 MB of free space on the hard drive; Mac OS X v.10.4 or above, PowerPC or Intel processor, CD ROM drive and from 150 to 260 MB of free space on the hard drive.
