Color Curious is a color identification program designed for use by individuals with low vision. This application (or app) allows a person who is colorblind to use their Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad as a visual aid. The user takes a picture with the device’s camera or chooses an existing picture from the device’s photo albums and uses standard gestures such as scrolling to position the image and pinching/double-tapping to zoom in and out to positions a crosshair in the center of the screen. The app will display the color at the crosshair point in the center of the screen. Color Curious uses a standard set of color terms and color space is divided into 15 distinct hues such as “yellow”, “greenish yellow”, and “yellowish green”. Each hue’s degrees of saturation and brightness are specified by modifiers such as “vivid”, “dark”, and “pale.” COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
