The PowerTel 580 is an amplified, hearing aid compatible, large button cordless telephone with speakerphone and answering machine designed for use by individuals who have low vision or are hard of hearing. The handset amplifies incoming sound up to 50 decibels (dB), and the base offers five adjustable ringer levels up to 90 dB and nine ringtones. The base has two flashing visual ringers, and the handset has an additional visual ring indicator. The phone features five equalizer tone settings, caller ID with 30 number recall, 200 name and number phonebook, clock and alarm function, and paging function on base to locate the handset. The handset has a two-line illuminated display that shows information in three languages - English, Spanish or French. The answering machine, which is incorporated into the base, has an LED message counter, 11 minutes of recording time with time and date stamp, and large buttons. Messages can play on the speakerphone or through the handset. The handset also has a 2.5 millimeter headset jack. Up to four additional handsets (sold separately) can be used with the PowerTel 580. POWER: The base is powered by a 100-240 volt, 50/60 hertz plug; the handset uses a AAA 2.4 volt 750mAh NiMH battery pack (included). WARRANTY: Two year warranty.
