My Own Bookshelf is a reading tutorial program designed for use by students with learning disabilities. This software enables the user to create personalized and engaging books with added media such as text, images, and Quicktime and AVI movies. Sound options include importing, recording, and Text-to-Speech (TTS). Books are placed on electronic bookshelves for students to read. Books can be catergorized by author, student, subject, etc. Each bookshelf holds up to nine books. Access options and preferences can be customized for each student, including preferred settings for mouse, touch screen, single switch, double switch, and Intellikeys (see entry). The program records each reading session, letting the teacher know how many books the student has read and which books they choose to read the most. Text can be printed or exported/imported.
