Adapto is a programmable hearing aid designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. It is available in four styles: Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC), In-the-Canal (ITC), In-the-Ear (ITE), and Behind-the-Ear (BTE). The CIC, ITC, and ITE hearing instruments are custom made for the user's ears. In BTE models the hearing instrument is held in place behind the ear with a custom made earmold. In Adapto CIC, all components are housed in a small case that fits far into the ear canal. The Adapto ITC is bigger than the CIC, but also fits far into the ear canal. It allows for more open ear fittings, and is used for mild to moderate hearing loss. Because of its larger size, the Adapto ITE can accommodate larger sound amplifiers and more features, such as a telephone switch, and can be used for a wider range of hearing loss. The BTE hearing aid also provides more amplification than smaller devices. OPTIONS: Multi-programming capacity for adapting to different listening environments. Both the BTE and ITE come in a directional version enabling the user to focus on sounds coming from the front. The BTE accessories include a tamper-resistant battery drawer, DAI and WTC shoes for FM systems, and an eyeglass adaptor. COLOR: The CIC, ITC, and ITE hearing instruments are pink, tan, medium brown, or dark brown. The BTE models are beige, light brown, dark brown, light gray, dark gray, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, green, or transparent.
