CUSTOM ADAPTATION PURPOSE: To enable an individual with motor neuron disease to talk on the telephone in privacy. Because the individual no longer has use of his arms, the device needed to be adaptable to both a standard cordless phone and a cell phone. The holder is equipped with a gooseneck arm and clamps to the push handle of a wheelchair. Attached to the gooseneck arm is a plastic spring clamp with jaws lined with vinyl. A caregiver dials the number being called and places the phone in the holder. The user can then complete the conversation privately. TITLE: Phone Holder. JOURNAL: TAD Journal.
