--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: To allow individuals with limited fine motor and dexterity participate in dressing activities by using a device to manage clothing buttons and zippers. MATERIALS USED: One - 7/8 inch metal cup holder hook, one - 6 inch long, 9/16 inch dowel, one jumbo paper clip, wood glue, Pliers. PREPPARATION: 1.Pre-drill small holes in each end of the dowel. 2.Put dab of glue in one hole of dowel. 3.Twist cup holder into hole being careful not to split dowel. 4.Straighten paper clip. 5.Bend paper clip in half and pinch the fold with the pliers. 6.Place paper clip over dowel and twist ends to form button hook. 7.Put a dab of glue in open hole of dowel. 8.Insert paper clip and twist to secure. 9.Allow to dry.
