The Esys 12 is a braille notetaker, braille display and braille keyboard designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This portable unit has 12 braille cells with 12 integrated cursor routing keys located above the braille cells. The Esys 12 includes a ten-key braille keyboard with which the user can type notes. The unit can be used to read and write text messages and operate a mobile phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), personal computer (PC), or notetaker. The user can use the two navigation joysticks to browse mobile phone, PDA or Microsoft Windows menus and the two navigation wheels to explore the screen. The Esys 12 can also be used as a notetaker with its built-in programming and micro SD card slot. Installed applications include Notepad, Agenda, Alarm Clock, Calculator and Tools. The device works with screen readers as well as devices loaded with screen reader programs. Connection is made through USB or Bluetooth. A 128 megabytes (MB) micro SD card and a protective softcase for traveling are included. COMPATIBILITY: IBM or compatible computers running Windows or Linux and Apple Macintosh computers or iPod, iPhone and iPad. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Windows; Mac OS X; or iOS.
