Talkingtiles

TalkingTILES is a voice output direct selection and symbolic communicator program designed for use by individuals with communication, cognitive, developmental, learning or speech disabilities, or autism and by caregivers, educators, therapists and parents working with people with these disabilities. This application, or app, enables an Apple iPad, Android device or Windows 8 device to function as an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) system for people who cannot speak or have difficulty speaking. TalkingTILES comes with a library of over 60,000 searchable SymbolStix, Mulberry, Sclera, Pictogram, Bliss and Widgit symbols and words. The app also includes over 30 different languages, accents and voices. The user can add his or her own pictures from the device’s camera, and personalizes Tiles and audio output by recording his or her own voice. The program provides the user access to a large public page library containing core vocabulary sets, vocab starters, social skills, visual schedules and templates. The user can also contribute to the TalkingTILES Public Library. Other features include secure data backup, color-code Tiles for word and vocabulary organization, and online collaboration and sync across all members of a support team.
