Passport

The Passport is a wandering patient system designed for use by hospital patients with cognitive disabilities or Alzheimer's disease. The system protects against patient flight, wandering and abduction in multiple hospital departments and busy hospital or institutional settings. The system includes a tamper-resistant tag with a cut-resistant band that resists unauthorized removal and causes an immediate alarm if it is removed. The tag can be removed when a patient needs to leave the restricted area and then re-attached using the same band. When a patient returns and the tag is re-attached, it is automatically re-enrolled in the system and re-associated with the correct patient data. Patients can be allowed to pass through some exits without causing an alarm, and access can be tailored to each patient based on their risk factors or restricted based on the time of day. The system allows different levels of protection in different areas. This system shares a platform with the Hugs infant protection system and Pedz pediatric protection system.
