The Video Sentry and Master Sentry are closed circuit television security systems for homes and offices designed to allow the occupants to see who is at the door by means of a video display on a telephone console. This feature may be particularly useful to individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or who have speech disabilities and cannot use an intercom system. Cameras installed at the door(s) use infrared technology to capture images in bright daylight or complete darkness. These images are transmitted to a phone console with a monitor inside the building so occupants may get a visual identification of the caller before letting them in. The system is activated when the caller presses a button similar to a doorbell. Their image will then appear on the monitor and an audible chime signals residents that someone is at the door. The resident can adjust the camera with a directional touch panel to any angle within 122 degrees horizontally (6 feet left to right) and 76 degrees vertically (about 3 feet up and down). Several systems are available to suit the size of the building and degree of security desired. The two most basic systems are the Video Sentry Plus (model MY-1BD) and the Video Sentry PanTilt (model MY-1CD) with one camera and one monitor console. The Video Sentry PanTilt Plus (model MY-2CD) and Video Sentry 10 PanTilt (models MY-CU/MYH-CU) are designed with large homes and small businesses in mind. These let the user monitor multiple entrances from an array of inside stations. These may also be used for internal room-to-room communication. The PanTilt Plus has an open voice function for announcements and allows monitoring outside for suspicious noises. The 10 PanTilt offers the flexibility to add up to two standard surveillance cameras which can scan a large area such as a driveway, lobby, back yard, or pool. The Master Sentry System provides audio, video, and music which can be selectively channeled to any room through a master or sub-station.
