The Bedside Assistant is a side rail designed to provide a stong and steady handle to grip right at the edge of the bed for individuals who are weakened by illness or injury. Unlike bed rails, the Bedside Assistant does not need to be raised and lowered, so the user can be more independent getting in and out of their own bed. Each handle has a long legs that fit between the mattress and boxspring and stay in place by the weight of the matress and a special "anti-slip" friction material. They work with any size bed with a standard mattress and boxspring, as well as most platform beds and water beds. The bed handles can be used for leverage while sitting on the bed and swinging your legs around or for balance when standing next to the side of the bed. These handles are very strong and won't fail under a 150 pound load each (two handles are provided with each order). DIMENSIONS: Handle extends 15 inces from the bottom of the mattress and is 20 inches wide. Grip is 7/8 inches in diameter. Legs that slide under the mattress are 3 feet long.
