The Varna 2 is a hand propelled three wheeled cycle designed for recreational, racing, touring, and all terrain use for indivudals with a lower limb disability. The semi-recumbent seat provides greater comfort and enables the rider to apply power more efficiently. Because of weight distribution this cycle can climb steep hills without slippage, a problem for most front wheel drive bikes. FRAME: The frame is made of chrome-moly. It measures 64L x 32W x 34H inches. The ground to seat rail height is 12 inches and the footrest to seat distance is 32 inches. The critical tip angle is 45 degrees. STEERING: The steering pedal crank lifts up and away from the seat and while doing so, raises the seat for easy transfer. Crank orientation is synchronous. The column also adjusts to individual arm length. DRIVE: Front Wheel drive. Number of gears is 18. Turning radius is 5 feet. Distance traveled with one turn of the hand crank in low gear is 3.5 feet and in high gear is 18 feet. SEAT: The seat is semi-recumbent. Its width is 13 inches nad the depth is 11 inches. Back height is 25 inches with an angle of 30 degrees. UPHOLSTERY: Cloth on foam. BRAKES: Front brakes are hub. WHEELS: Various options are available. One front wheel diameter is 20 inches. Two rear wheels measure 20 inches. CAPACITY: Accomodates people up to six feet five and up to 250 pounds. WEIGHT: 34 pounds. COLORS: Available in red, black or blue. WARRANTY: Frame is warranted for two years.
