Switch Basics by SoftTouch is a control switch training program designed for use by children and adults with severe or multiple disabilities. The program may be accessed by a mouse, a single switch, a touch screen, or Intellikeys (see separate entry), and offers nine different programs for a variety of switch operations, including cause and effect, automatic scanning, step scanning, and row and column scanning. With activities for one or two programs, a variety of learning options are available and include watching clouds roll away to reveal African animals, visiting the beauty salon or barber shop, doing two to sixteen piece puzzles, adding swimming fish to a huge aquarium, making tigers run a course, nudging characters to step forward for surprising results, activating talking fish, becoming a barber or beautician, and more. The program offers a choice of music, graphics and photos for all ages, a choice of the number of switch hits to achieve a result, a choice of one or two players, and a choice of auditory or quiet scans/prompts. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 95/98, 32 megabytes (MB) RAM, CD-ROM drive, SVGA monitor, sound card, and speakers.
