Hidalgo County Health and Human Services: County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP) information provided by: the Area Agency on Aging of the Lower Rio Grande Valley

Provides health care services for eligible residents with low income. Provides basic health care services to their indigent residents who reside within their service area and meet resource and income limits. County indigent health care programs provide:

  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital services

  • Physician services, including annual physical examinations

  • Up to three prescriptions per month

  • Skilled nursing facility services

  • Rural health clinic services

  • Family planning services

  • Laboratory and x-ray services

  • Immunizations

  • Medical screening services

  • STD testing

  • TB testing and treatment

  • Pregnancy testing and family planning (assist with birth control and condoms; Maternity/Prenatal care - provide physical and lab work, child health services and immunizations administered at different clinics throughout Hidalgo County.)

Mon - Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm, closed 12-1pm
