BRIEF: VA recognized for hiring disabled

Oct. 26--BATH -- The Bath VA Medical Center was named for the second year in a row a leader in Disability Hiring by the National Organization Disability (NOD) based on the NOD's free and confidential benchmarking survey. The medical center was recognized with an award at the NOD's annual forum on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park in Virginia.

The National Organization on Disability (NOD) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes participation and contributions of the country's 57 million people with disabilities. NOD focuses on increasing employment opportunities for working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed.

The Bath VA Medical Center, part of New York/New Jersey VA Health Care Network, is located in the Southern Tier of New York State. The Medical Center serves Veterans in Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates counties in N.Y., as well as Veterans in Tioga and Potter counties in Pennsylvania. The Bath VA Medical Center also supports two national cemeteries, one located at the Bath VA and Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira.
