Center for Independent Living breaks ground on facility expansion

Dunn County News - 5/14/2018

The Center for Independent Living for Western Wisconsin (CILWW), a non-profit providing services to people with disabilities in Western Wisconsin broke ground on a large expansion of its main office located in the Stout Technology Park. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 30.

CILWW has been providing services to people of all disabilities of all ages in 10 counties since 1980. In addition to the main office at 2920 Schneider Avenue, CILWW maintains offices in Eau Claire, Rice Lake and River Falls.

"As a growing non-profit, we have simply run out of space," Executive Director Tim Sheehan said. "This expansion will allow us to better serve our consumers and the community at large."

CILWW is planning a large open house for the community upon completion of the building expansion. The construction is anticipated to be completed in November or December of this year.

The $2.6 million project is being headed up Shefchik Builders of Menomonie as the general contractor with architectural services by River Valley Architects of Chippewa Falls.
