MURRAY HOUSE DINNER DANCE

The 48th annual dinner dance will be Feb. 18 at the Brownstone in Paterson, presented by the Murray Family and the nonprofit Department for Persons with Disabilities, based in Oak Ridge. The Murray House in Clifton is a group home for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and was named in honor of Jimmy Murray.

Centennial Winter Celebration traffic

On Feb. 24 between the hours of 1 to 7 p.m., the Borough of Bloomingdale will be having its Centennial Winter Celebration at Sloan Park on Main Street. During this time, part of Main Street will be closed with traffic being diverted between Reeve Avenue and Union Avenue. Expect there to be delays. If possible, please plan an alternate route. Also for those attending the festivities, a shuttle bus will be running from the Samuel R. Donald School (29 Captolene Avenue) to Sloan Park. Parking at the Samuel R. Donald School is recommended.

Assistive Technology Tools for Writing: Webinar from the Center on Technology and Disability, presented by Pacer Center's specialists, on Feb. 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. For some students, writing can be a hard skill to master. Whether a student struggles with getting thoughts down on paper, spelling, grammar or bibliographies, AT can help. This workshop for parents will focus on aid in writing for students with disabilities of all ages. Tools include Smartpens, apps and Chrome extensions. Support Group for Parents of Children with Challenges: Feb. 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Family Partners Community Center, 67 Spring St., Newton. Facilitated by Julie Rikon. Understanding Tourette Syndrome: Webinar on Feb. 21, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dr. Martin Franklin from the University of Pennsylvania, will present the underlying neurology, development and treatment for TS along with strategies for the management of its typical co-occurring disorders - anxiety, OCD and ADHD. Franklin is an associate professor of clinical psychology and director of the Child and Adolescent OCD, Tic, Trich, and Anxiety Group. Tricky tray and jazz concert

Blue & Gold Tricky Tray and Jazz Night: Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Pequannock Township High School auditorium and cafeteria. The event benefits the Pequannock High School band. Push to Walk

Casino Night: March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Route 23 Auto Mall in Butler. Featuring a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament. Entry fee is $150 for poker players and $50 for spectators (entry fee will increase to $175 after March 3). Both entry fees include a buffet dinner, wine and beer. West Milford Organic Community Garden

Plots available at both of our gardens for 2018. Dues for the season are $40 for one 8 X 8 plot, $70 for two. Our gardens are located at Apple Acres on Union Valley Road and the Wallisch Homestead on 65 Lincoln Ave. Our community gardens use only organic practices, no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or treated seeds.
