EXETER

n Exeter Alzheimer's Cafe: held at the Exeter Senior Center, 30 Court St., Exeter, invites caregivers and their family members living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia to gather in a supportive non-clinical setting to chat, relax, engage in various activities and socialize while enjoying refreshments. EXETER

n Exeter Woman's Club: a member of the international General Federation of Women's Clubs, meets at 1:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday (September-May), at Langdon Place Community Room, Hampton Road, Exeter. This volunteer group continues knitting hats for chemo patients, sewing comfort pillows for cancer survivors, sewing bags and hospital gowns for Operation SMILE, gives a scholarship plus helps a variety of charities. 778-1287.

n Exeter Area General Federation of Women's Clubs: meets at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month, September to May, at the Exeter Senior Center. Call 778-7237.

HAMPTON

n National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees) Seacoast Chapter 1790 meets in March, April, May, September, October, November, and December, generally on the fourth Thursday of the month except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

n Senior Citizens Club: of Hampton meets the second Thursday at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road. There will be coffee and snacks at 9:30 a.m. 929-0470.

n Newmarket Senior Citizens: meets the first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Center on Beech Street Extension. Anyone 55 and older is welcome to join.

n Sunrise Sunset +55 Activity Center: 2 Terrace Drive, Newmarket. As part of the Newmarket Recreation Department, The Sunrise Sunset Center offers activities, events and trips for the active, mature population. Programming encompasses all aspects of wellness from exercise groups to fun weekly activities. STRATHAM

n Stratham Seniors: (76'ers) is a local social organization open to all seniors of Stratham and surrounding communities. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month from September to June from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stratham Fire Station municipal room. A potluck lunch is provided by members followed by information speakers or programs. Fun field trips are planned by the Stratham Parks and Recreation Department. n Seaside Elderly Day Out Center: 441 rear Lafayette Road, Hampton, provides its clients with home cooked meals, socialization, individual and group activities, crafts, projects, cards, bingo, among other activities. NORTH HAMPTON

n Seacoast VNA: offers a monthly blood pressure clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the agency office, 29 Lafayette Road, in North Hampton. This service is free of charge and no appointment is necessary.

SEACOAST

n Lamprey Health Care: Senior Transportation Program provides rides to essential services for individuals over the age of 60 and adults with disabilities living in Auburn, Barrington, Brentwood, Candia, Danville, Deerfield, Durham, East Kingston, Epping, Exeter, Fremont, Hampton, Hampstead, Kensington, Kingston, Lee, Newfields, Newmarket, North Hampton, Northwood, Nottingham, Plaistow, Raymond, Sandown, Seabrook and Stratham. Access to essential services makes it possible for seniors to remain self-sufficient and in their own homes. Our handicapped-accessible buses take seniors and adults with disabilities to the grocery store, pharmacy, doctor, or bank and provide opportunities to socialize. Drivers will assist passengers on and off the bus and with their bags. The service is door-to-door and reservations are made by calling (800) 582-7214 or 659-2424 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

n ServiceLink: A New Hampshire source for information about aging, chronic illness, adult disabilities and care giving. Staff and volunteers are available to answer questions regarding: transportation, health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, in-home care, housing, legal planning, health issues, financial matters, prescription drug assistance and more. ServiceLink also offers cell phones for seniors or disabled individuals (911 calls only). n Foot care clinic: Seacoast VNA offers the following foot clinics: Webster at Rye Skilled Nursing Facility in Rye, 9 a.m. to noon, the first Tuesday of the month; Seacoast VNA office at 29 Layfayette Road in North Hampton, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., second Thursday of the month and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., fourth Tuesday of the month; Seabrook Community Center in Seabrook, 9 a.m. to noon, third Wednesday of the month. Call (978) 552-4747 to make an appointment. The suggested donation varies by location and will be discussed when the appointment is scheduled.

n New Hampshire Senior Companions: volunteer within their communities visiting socially isolated and frail seniors or adults with disabilities. They enable those they visit to live independently by helping with errands, providing transportation to medical appointments, encouraging exercise, assisting with simple tasks, giving supportive friendship, and providing respite for caregivers.
