Worcester-based Ascentria acquires nursing home

Jan. 23--WORCESTER -- Ascentria Care Alliance Inc. has acquired a Boston nursing home, using funds from a $22.8 million tax-exempt bond issued by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency.

The agency, known as MassDevelopment, said in a news release that Ascentria bought Presentation Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, a 122-bed facility in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston.

Berkshire Bank purchased the bond, MassDevelopment reported.

Ascentria is a nonprofit organization focused on services for children, families, people with developmental disabilities and mental illness, and refugees. MassDevelopment has previously issued bonds to fund Ascentria purchases of nursing facilities in Boston'sJamaica Plain neighborhood and West Brookfield.
