San Rafael's Whistlestop hires CFO

Dec. 14--Fairfax resident Jeff Wands has been hired as the chief financial officer of San Rafael's Whistlestop, a nonprofit that works with seniors and people with disabilities.

In his new role, Wands will report to CEO Joe O'Hehir and be responsible for Whistlestop's financial management, forecasting, reporting and risk management, among other duties. Wands most recently served nine years at Westcoast Children's Clinic in Oakland as CFO. He previously was CFO at Connecticut Humane Society and was vice president of finance at Kelson Physician Partners.

----San Rafael Attorney David Vogelstein was honored Tuesday by the Marin County Board of Education for 20 years of coaching the Tamalpais High School Mock Trial team. Vogelstein is retiring from his role as lead coach but helped the team secure the county title for 23 consecutive years, winning three state championships and one national championship.

----Khailylah "Kiki" Jordan has been appointed to the position of interim chief executive officer of Marin City Health and Wellness Center. Jordan has been at the center for four years, most recently serving as director of the Marin Family Birth Center. She takes over for JayVon Muhammad, who announced after five years at the helm that she is taking a new position at the SWLA Center for Health Services in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
