---- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype watch in conjunction with Swatch that allows individuals with visual impairments and/or blindness to tell time by touch. Sens is a double-ring ceramic device which tells time by touch. The 12 hour point is marked with Braille so the user can identify which way is up. The uppermost ring has an interior edge that rotates; it allows the user to tell what hour it is simply by the distance of the edge from the 12 hour marker. A second ring of clear plastic is an alarm. The second ring’s distance from the upper ring denotes how much time the user has left to sleep. The user can move the second ring to set the alarm without having to see the device. TITLE: Time By Touch. WEBSITE: Yanko Design. REF: http://www.yankodesign.com/2007/08/02/time-by-touch.
