Welcome to the Aging and Disability Resource Center. Our ADRC's serve as single points of entry into long term services and support systems for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, veterans and families. Through the No Wrong Door Approach, our Resource Centers are welcoming and convenient locations for you and your family to get information, advice, and access to a wide variety of services that can help an individual stay living independently in the community.
Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Service UPDATE:
As of September 1, 2016, programs and services previously administered or delivered by the former Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) have been transferred by the Texas Legislature to the Texas Workforce Commission or the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Health and human services in Texas are in the middle of a 2-year transformation that will result in a more streamlined organization that is more responsive to the people of Texas.
In the first phase, client services transferred to Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) on Sept. 1, 2016. In the second phase, regulatory programs and management of the operations for state supported living centers will transfer to HHS by Sept. 1, 2017, and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) will be abolished.
